Our herd is officially CLOSED as of Feb 16, 2008!
Our definition of a closed herd: No new incoming goats, only outgoing.
AI (artificial insemination) will be acceptable from a herd of equal status healthwise,
when the need for new genetics arises several years from closure(2008).
Biosecurity measures will be in place to maintain our herd status.
We raise quality, registered Myotonic Goats. Color combinations vary. Many
lines are of the traditional black and white only for those interested in the traditional black and white. Polled
(hornless) and blue eyes are offered pending availability. Most blood lines do not carry the blue eyed gene.
Our stock has been tested for
Johne's,
CLA, and
CAE . The most recent round of testing took place 9/27/2007. The results were negative once again.
We are proud to show buyers the results.
Our facilities include 3 goat pastures (expanding soon), 2 buck pens, 1 quarantine pen, 2 breeding pens,
2 barns, and individual shelters in each pasture/paddock. Visitors can view our facilities (there are two over-looks).
For Biosecurity reasons, visitors are not allowed into our pens. We keep a separate neutral area for this purpose, or
we bring animals out on leads.
We practice rotational grazing, individualized breedings and prefer management over medications. These
practices have served us well. We are serious about disease and maintaining a clean herd.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
